Hello!
Today’s video is in response to a question that came up in the Canva Tips for Authors Facebook group (facebook.com/groups/canva4authors). Nicole asked how you make those videos of a growing stack of books and whether you could make one in Canva. The answer is, of course, yes! You can!
I rarely buy paperbacks nowadays because my eyesight is so terrible that I need the letters to be huge, so I read on a Kindle. I might buy the odd non fiction book in paperback, so that I can stick notes on it, but that’s about it. So I used a stack of my own books instead. It was quite a nice thing to do, really. It reminded me that my ‘new’ pen name (which has the advantage of being my real name) is an establised name now.
You can use this sort of stack to show off your TBR, or to show stack of books that relate to a particular theme. Yesterday I saw one which was just ‘yellow books’. They’re all quite fun.
Here’s the tutorial on how to make the video. I had another go at trying to include sound effects … but, as usual they either didn’t come out on the video at all, or sounded tinny and weird. I’m pretty sure it’s because I’m recording through Canva rather than using a screen recording app, but hey ho. It is what it is.
Just click on the play button to view the video.
If there’s anything you want to know how to make, let me know and I’ll see if I can work out how to do it in Canva.
As always, please tell all your friends about this newsletter.
See you next week.
