Oops. Last week's email didn't send

But you were probably distracted by all the Black Friday emails

I had scheduled last week’s email wrong and it didn’t send. So here it is this week instead.

I had two books come out this year. There was a gap of several months in between them, but the second book still felt like a surprise when publication day came around. I had to make some marketing images for it really quickly. I wish I’d known about the ‘copy style’ button at that time! It would have saved me so much time.

The ‘copy style’ button (or ‘format painter) does exactly what it says on the tin. You can copy the style, colours, fonts etc from one design and apply it to another. The example I use is adapting an image I made for a romcom and using it for a vampire book - as you can imagine, they have VERY different vibes.

This vampire book wasn’t on my schedule for this year. It was a random bonus book that came from going to Octocon and being inspired.

The Canva Tips for Authors YouTube channel has a lot of tutorials on it now.
